Trial run

So, because I want to keep all of you up-to-date on my travels, but did not want to go through the laborious process of creating email groups, remembering email addresses, etc., I thought it would be easiest if I created a blog.  Basically, if you're interested at all in what I'm doing over on the other side of the world, just click on the "follow this blog" icon on the right hand side and it should then give you updates through email each time I post a message, picture, etc.  If you already get too many emails and don't want to hear my ramblings about how beautiful New Zealand and Australia are while it's cold and miserable in the States, I will completely understand.  So yeah, that's it.  I leave on Wednesday the 14th and come back March 10th.  One picture (among many) that always gets me excited for the trip is the following:

Apparently these views are common over there, which is pretty crazy to think (this is in Lyttelton, a town right outside of Christchurch in the South Island).

Feel free to leave a message here or send me an email to my gmail account - jbrock7@gmail.com.

Talk soon,

Justin

  6. BWest: Knee Feels Better
Brian Westbrook cleared up some of the intrigue over ESPN's story earlier this week, stating that he had reinjured his knee in last Sunday's victory at the Giants, a wording the network eventually changed to "tweaked," at the request of the Eagles, who then denied any change in Westbrook's condition.

At a news conference Friday just before the Birds left for Arizona and Sunday's NFL Championship Game, Westbrook acknowledged he had indeed "tweaked" his knee -- as he has several times now, he said. But Westbrook practiced Friday and said he feels better now than he felt a week ago.

"I feel great," said Westbrook, who has gained 74 yards on 38 carries in two playoff games so far.

"If you have an injury, you're going to tweak that injury" by playing on it, he said. Westbrook's left knee has been a chronic source of pain and swelling since he tore his ACL in high school. But Westbrook said he never thinks about how much longer his knee might allow him to play football.

Meanwhile, Eagles coach Andy Reid said right tackle Jon Runyan (knee) was the only Eagle who did not practice. Runyan is expected to play. The only Eagle listed as "out" is right guard Shawn Andrews, who is recovering from back surgery.

Reid said his texting friendship with Phils manager Charlie Manuel, chronicled in Wednesday's Daily News, has continued, with Manuel "wishing me support, and making sure I coach as well as he did."

Reid reiterated his respect for the Cardinals, who won their division wth a 9-7 record.

"The last two weeks, they've played as good a (brand of) football as anybody has this year," he said.

Donovan McNabb spoke of his offseason friendship with Cardinals defensive end Bertrand Berry, and said that playing against Berry is "kind of like going up against your brother." McNabb acknowledged that the Phoenix area, where he lives in the offseason, "is like home."

Brian Dawkins said he was happy to hear former Eagles running back Duce Staley will be an honorary captain for the game. Staley played in the first three NFC Championship Games of this Eagles era, all of them losses.
